It is with great sadness that on March 5 ^th , 2018, Anita Delguidice, my loving Mother, passed away and was called home at the age of 90 in Laguna Hills, California surrounded by family and friends. Mom will be missed greatly by her son Robert and grandson Christian and by all who knew her. She has touched many lives with her love and kindness, she was a blessing to us all.

Anita was born November 19 ^th , 1927 in Chicago, Illinois to her loving parents, Anita Marie Remy and Eugene Dedeaux. Soon after her birth they returned home to New Orleans, where Anita was raised with her 3 brothers and 3 sisters. Years later her mother moved the family to Alameda, California when Anita was a teen. She graduated from Alameda High School in 1945, staying in the Bay Area until the early 80’s, then moving to Southern California to be close to her sister Gloria in Laguna Hills where she worked for more that 20 years providing health care for the elderly.

Anita lived life to the fullest with more energy at 90 than many have at 20. She loved God, and was a regular at St. Nicholas to cherish and praise Him. She loved her family and the holidays were her favorite time with them. Cooking, shopping and bingo were some of her past time favorites. She made a delicious Gumbo and Mom’s famous red beans & rice will be missed.

Anita is survived by her son Robert Delguidice Jr., a grandson Christian Delguidice and cousin Yvette Duvernay who was like a sister.

Anita was preceded by her husband Robert Delguidice Sr., her brothers Norman, Eugene (Pete) Edwin (Eddie) and her sisters Elaine, Gloria and Inez.

Now her mother Anita, my Grandma Dedeaux has all her children reunited with her and they are surely celebrating in Heaven.

In honor of my mother we will be having a Celebration of Life service which is scheduled for 11:00 AM on Saturday, March 24, 2018 at St. Nicholas Parish, 24252 El Toro Rd., Laguna Woods, CA 92637.
