Obituary

Angelo Sante Turi, 88 years old of Mission Viejo Ca, passed away on Monday Dec. 23rd, 2024 at Providence Mission Hospital with his wife Stella by his side. He died from an unexpected Hemorrhagic Stroke. “Papa” as my sister Grace and I called him, was a devoted husband to Stella Turi, a supportive and loving father to Rosa and Grace Turi and a proud grandpa to Micayla Turi. Born on Jan. 13th, 1936, in Triggiano Italy our father came to America to live his best life.

Papa was a hard-working man and provided the best life for his family. A big part his life was being married to our mother Stella for 57 years. He was always determined to finish what he started and didn’t let anything get in the way of his dreams.

Our father was the strongest man we’ve ever known. He was a man of integrity, kindness, and humor always leaving a lasting impact on everyone who knew him. He loved sharing stories about his youth and his journey through life. Many of our fondest memories were at the dinner table where we spent every holiday together. Most of our dinners ended with a good old game of “Tombola “(Italian Bingo Game). Listening to our parents call out the numbers in their heavy Italian accent was the best. Our father had special little sayings for some of the numbers that just made us laugh.

Pa spent most of his 40 years as a Bakery Delivery Truck Driver making friends everywhere he went. He was very sociable and loved just chatting with people he crossed throughout his workday. Papa was always working on projects with our mom and loved spending time in the garden. Picking fruit from the trees and sharing it with neighbors and friends. And if you were one of the special people you were lucky enough to have eaten our dad’s Tiramisu. It was the best and everyone loved it. He’d spend half a day making that cake with love. Our dad was also a huge Lakers fan and never missed watching a game on TV. His biggest highlight before he passed was Trump winning the presidency, hands down.

We will miss him so much and we’ll never stop loving him . He is in our hearts and memories forever.

Funeral services for our father start on Fri. Jan 10th at 2pm-4pm at O’Connor Mortuary in Laguna Hills with a viewing. Funeral Mass is Sat. Jan 11th at 12:30 at St Kilian Church in Mission Viejo followed by the burial at Ascension Cemetery in Lake Forest at 2pm.
