Obituary

Amy Kathryn McComb Stahovich was born September 15, 1972 to parents Michael McComb and Jean Fenoglio in Pasadena, California. Amy was the youngest of three siblings, sister Kimberly Marie, brother Mark Ray, and only five minutes younger than her identical twin sister, Charleen Ann. She spent her early years in Costa Mesa, later moving to Irvine in second grade, where she was raised. Amy attended El Camino Real Elementary School, Venado Middle School, and graduated from Irvine High School in 1990. While in school, Amy enjoyed playing soccer, singing, and drama. After high school, Amy moved to the Modesto area where she attended college and studied cosmetology. After school, she moved back to Orange County where she met her soulmate, Steve Stahovich, while working as a hairdresser. She and Steve fell deeply in love and married on May 18, 2002. Together they had two children, daughter Taylor Jean, born November 14, 2005 and son, Tanner Louis, born May 15, 2010. Amy’s children brought her great joy and she loved her family tremendously. She also thoroughly enjoyed the relationships with the families of Salem Lutheran School and St. John’s Lutheran School.

Amy put her heart and soul into everything she did in life. Whether it was in her relationships with others, her work, or her love for the Lord, she loved fiercely and her spirit could fill a room! Amy never met a stranger. Her free-spirit allowed her to share her unconditional love with every single person she met. She had a larger than life personality and an ability to make the people in her life know they mattered. Amy helped the homeless and showed caring love for those with special needs. She supported women looking for a second chance with haircuts and wardrobe choices; she had a gift for lifting people up and helping others in their time of need. It was truly a blessing to be in her presence and a gift to have known her. As a fearless entrepreneur and talented hairdresser, she opened her first salon, Shear Attitude, in Newport Beach and later opened her dream salon, Blowtini, in Orange. She showed the world how important it is to follow one’s dreams and to live life unapologetically.

Amy had no enemies and no fear. She said if you have fear you do not have God. If you have God you won’t live a day in fear.  As a result you will have no enemies.

On June 22, 2019, Amy left this Earth to go be with her Lord and Savior. Those who knew Amy, knew of her deep love and commitment to God. She served the Lord everyday and spread His message to all. Although she is no longer with us, Amy will never be forgotten and her memory will live on in the hearts of her family and friends.

My friend you will truly be missed. My thoughts and prayers are with your family. You always had a true light that only got brighter. I remember when we first met when I was your kiddos daycare teacher at Salem. I enjoyed seeing you at pick up to catch up on life talk. I will always remember your kindness and warm smile.

  2. I never met this wonderful gal, but I used to babysit for the Stahovich boys . My folks and
Art and Marge were close and lived in the same neighborhood, my folks were Tom and Irene
Cantrell. They both passed in the last 2 years. God bless you all at this sad time. I went
to Arts Funeral. Hope Marge is doing ok.
