Obituary
Alicia M. Avila, 66, of Laguna Woods, passed away to eternal glory on August 24th at 6:30pm at her home.
Ali, as she preferred to be called, was born in Quito, Ecuador, South America. She lived most of her adult life in Cypress Cove and Cypress Shore in San Clemente, where she loved to go jogging along the surf and sand.
Ali loved adventure and enjoyed cruising in the family Grand Banks Traveler along the California coast, as well as traveling in Europe, the Pacific Islands, Mexico and the United States. She was a dedicated member of a Christian group of San Clemente women called Women Aglow for several years.
Ali is survived by her loving and dedicated soul mate of many years, Jerry Avila; her children, Diana Scott (Jeff), Ann Brunner (Mike), Gail Kilker (John), and Mark Remy; seven grandchildren, Jacob, Jarod, Nathan, Madeline, Gavin, Camaron, Jade and Stella; and her siblings Maria Newsom (Bob), Monique Padgett, Ximena Foley (Gary), Faust Grijalva, Frank Grijalva, and Veronica DePue (Mark).
Service for Ali will be held at St. Nicholas Catholic Church, 24252 El Toro Rd., Laguna Woods, CA 92637 on September 5th, 10:00am. The Rosary will be prayed at O’Connor Mortuary at 25301 Alicia Pkwy., Laguna Hills, CA 92653 from 7-9pm on Thursday, August 31.
