Alice was born to Everett and Gail Jones in Parker, Arizona, moved to San Joaquin Valley and graduated from Tranquility High School. Then 9 years later she met her prince in Hollywood and married Jeffrey Krause on April 17, 1965. Alice was a fan of the Dodgers and most sports. The Sun and Sail Club of Lake Forest was where she worked for 22 years. She was proud of her sons, Patrick, Brian and grandson Jamen. Alice is survived by her husband, sons, grandson, brother, nieces and nephews and her dog Lily.

A Memorial Service will take place celebrating her wonderful life on June 6 at 11AM at Saddleback Church Plaza Room, 1 Saddleback Dr, Lake Forest, CA 92630. In lieu of flowers the family asks that donations be made to: Orange County Rescue Mission, a ministry she embraced because it provides love for the least, the last and the lost. Dear Jeff, Patrick, Brian, Jamen, and Everett,

Word’s cannot express the sorrow that comes with the loss of a loved one. This is something we experienced last year with mom’s passing. Yet even in the darkness there is always a ray of light. That small glimmer of hope that comes with the reassurance of our loved ones being with God in Heaven. And we know, we sense, we see that this truth in the smallest forms: whether its the simple whisper of a breeze; or the soft touch of a butterfly to a pedal. In that small gesture we sense the Love that is the greatest of all gifts He provides.

While we can’t be there with you today, physically, we are there with you in our hearts and spirits. Relive the happy times, forget about the sadness, and celebrate the wonderful woman God gave us in Alice. Celebrate her life, her blessings, her joys. And celebrate knowing that one day we will all be together again in His glorious kingdom.

Finally, watch for those small miracles. Nothing elaborate or life changing…but small things. For instance: during mom’s funeral Staci read a poem about a butterfly, and while she was reading it one landed on the flowers placed at mom’s grave site. Small miracle, but one that lit our hearts ablaze knowing it was sent with Love. They’ll be there, these small miracles, and you’ll know what they are. No one else may see them or understand them, but you will. And praise God when they come for this is His sign of comfort for you.

God only cries for the living, a song by Diamond Rio, is a difficult, yet beautiful song to listen to when a loved one moves on. Give it a try and pay close attention to the lyrics.

God bless you and keep you all,

I can only imagine what it will be like
When I walk by Your side

I can only imagine what my eyes will see
When Your face is before me

    I can only imagine
    I can only imagine

    [Chorus:]
Surrounded by Your glory, what will my heart feel
Will I dance for You Jesus or in awe of you be still
Will I stand in Your presence or to my knees will I fall
Will I sing hallelujah, will I be able to speak at all

    I can only imagine
    I can only imagine

I can only imagine when that day comes
And I find myself standing in the sun

I can only imagine when all I will do
    Is forever, forever worship You

    I can only imagine
    I can only imagine

Surrounded by Your glory, what will my heart feel
Will I dance for You Jesus or in awe of You be still
Will I stand in Your presence or to my knees will I
    fall
Will I sing hallelujah, will I be able to speak at all

    I can only imagine
    yeah
    I can only imagine

    I can only imagine
When all I will do is forever,
    forever worship you

    I can only imagine

    Lyrics from Mercy Me

I can’t help but think that on this day Alice is dancing and listening to the praises; understanding more fully who our SAVIOR is. So thankful she’ll be at the gate for me! But in the meantime we struggle with those things that sometimes don’t matter, or that easily distract us from our Savior. It is my mission to stay focused even more and believe that Alice is going to ask me “How ya doin? Stayin’ busy?” on that day when I too join her in heaven.
