Obituary

Alfred (Al) DiDomenico passed away peacefully on December 11, 2021. He was 89 years old. He was at home with his family in the Laguna Woods community he loved.

Al is survived by his wife Donna Anderson; his three children, Lisa Graham, Fred DiDomenico, and Renee Rios; and his two grandchildren Dalton Rios and Christian Graham. He is also survived by his first wife and our mother, Rosemary Manning, who shared over 30 years in marriage.

Our dad had 3 loves in his life: God and doing God’s work; his family; and the Philadelphia Eagles football team. He was born and raised in an Italian immigrant family in Philadelphia, PA. Being Italian; eating good Italian food; and rooting for the Eagles gave my dad great joy! He enjoyed a career in the hospitality industry and then as an executive recruiter in his own business.

In his mid-40’s our dad was inspired by a vision of Jesus standing at his side and asking him to serve the Lord by saving others. He sold his business; enrolled in a theological education program; and began his mission and work to help those in need and seeking renewal in their life – to bring them to God, Christ, and into the Catholic church. He did a lot of charitable work for organizations such as St. Vincent DePaul and as a member of the Knights of Columbus.

In the last 8 years my dad was also dedicated to the care and support of his wife Donna who suffers from Alzheimer’s in a nursing facility.

Al DiDomenico, our father, was a powerful visionary. He was diligent in all his work and was creative, entrepreneurial, inspirational, a risk taker, and had great charisma. He made friends everywhere he went – happy to share stories and laughs with anyone who would listen! We also understand the efforts, sacrifices, and support it takes to raise a family, and we are appreciative and grateful.

May he rest in peace in God’s eternal love. We will miss him, and he lives on in our hearts.

In lieu of flowers our dad would appreciate the benefit of your prayers for his soul and for the work of the Knights of Columbus and the Catholic community serving others. A special thank you from Lisa, Renee, and Fred to St. Nicholas Church staff and the Knights of Columbus members. All of you have been so supportive and we are grateful. We also thank and pray for the men and women caring for the sick with Vitas Hospice and Care Partners caregivers.

Alfred DiDomenico’s funeral mass will be held on Saturday, January 29th, at 11am, St. Nicholas Church, 24252 El Toro Rd, Laguna Woods, CA 92637.
