Obituary

Alexander James Herschberg (Alex), 20, of Rancho Santa Margarita, beloved son and brother. Alex was taken from us on June 4th, 2014. He was born on June 30th, 1993 in Newport Beach, CA to Richard Leo and Brenda Lee Herschberg.

Alex spent the first years of his life living in Westminster, CA and then moved to Rancho Santa Margarita, CA where he spent the majority of his young life. He graduated from Trabuco High School in 2011.

Alex played most sports growing up, but Lacrosse was his favorite. In high school, he was on both the wrestling team and the Lacrosse team. However, his real love was music. He went to Saddleback College to gain a foundation and pursue his dream, with hopes of going to music school and pursuing a career in recording.

This year, Alex met the most wonderful young lady, Brooke Gilmour. They met and instantly fell for each other. Although their relationship was short, it was very strong and they made each other very happy. It was apparent to everyone they met. Their relationship was full of potential.

Alex is survived by his parents Richard Leo and Brenda Lee Herschberg and siblings, Lauren, Andrew and Aaron as well as many other friends and extended family. Alex built his life around his music and love for people. His fun personality, warmth, kindness and creativity will be greatly missed.

  2. Alex,

I am so very sad that you have left us. You were so very talented and loved by all. It breaks my heart that we cannot see you grow up into the man you were meant to be. I am so very glad you found Brooke. She is such a beautiful and kind hearted girl. I was so glad meeting her the first time at your Aunt Deb’s. You had such a beautiful smile on your face when she was near. The very happiest I have ever seen you. I wish we had longer together. I will miss you always. I hope you will look down upon her and help her get through this time of missing you. She has such a love for you and I worry for her. I hope you have your Grandma close by as I know she will take good care of you until we all can be together again. Love you Alex,

    Aunt Kristen
