Albert Vanderdoes Jr. passed away from heart failure on March 19, 2014 at the age of 89. He is survived by Edna, his beloved wife of 64 years.

Albert was born and raised in Pasadena and was the owner of A & E Automotive located on Walnut Street in Pasadena for over 30 years. He specialized in Ford, Lincoln and Mercury vehicles. He had a passion for cars his entire life.

After retiring from his business at the age of 62, Albert and Edna moved to a retirement community in Vista, California. There they enjoyed golf, traveling all over the US in their motor home and seeing the world by cruise ships. In June 2012, Al and Edna moved to Irvine, California to be closer to their children and grandchildren. Albert is also survived by his two children: Larry VanderDoes and his wife Heidi and Debbie Jackson and her husband Rich. Al had four granddaughters: Kelly Pidgeon, Kristen Jackson, Michelle Winters and Jenna VanderDoes and one great-grandson, Graham Pidgeon.

Albert is also survived by his sister, Dolores Hunt of El Monte.
