Obituary

Aida Montesinos was born to Gerardo and Maria Palacios on November 17, 1942 in Lima, Peru. She was the youngest of four siblings, Javier, Delia and Gerardo and was her father’s favorite. She enjoyed growing up in her neighborhood of Jorge Chavez in Districto De Brena and earned her bachelor’s degree at the Federico Villareal University in Lima, Peru. She later went onto marry her eternal love, Jorge Montesinos on November 26, 1966. During her 34 year journey with him, Aida accomplished migrating to the United States, was a wonderful mother to four daughters, Millie, Angie, Jessica, and Carol and grandmother to two grandsons, Kevin and Brian. She was a kind-hearted woman with an infectious smile, a superb cook of Peruvian meals, a lover of great music and dancing, a wonderful homemaker, and due to her love of children became a teacher’s aide for LA Unified School District. Over the years, she evolved into a more independent woman where she went on to purchase her own home in Chino Hills where her siblings were welcome to stay for many years. She further completed 25 years as a social worker for the Department of Social Services before retiring in 2015. In the more recent years, Aida moved to Laguna Hills where she enjoyed many wonderful moments: walks, dancing, dining, senior activities, and a peaceful family life.

Aida was compassionate to those less fortunate, selfless in all aspects, a devoted mother, wife, sister, grandmother, aunt, mother-in-law and friend, a humanitarian to all animals, a humble woman of morals and principals with strong family values with a huge appreciation for life and all it has to offer. Very defined in her love for the lord and dignified in carrying out her life until the end. Aida always held her love for our lord very close to her heart, coining the phrase to her children often: “Sin Dios no somos nada”.

Aida will be greatly missed and remembered forever in our hearts, forever and ever. She is survived by all her daughters and siblings, as well as one grandson and her eternal love.
