Obituary

Tipton, Adelaide Mildred, 97, of Laguna Hills, passed away August 4 after a short illness. Mrs. Tipton, who was born in Peoria, Illinois, was a thirty year resident of Leisure World in Laguna Woods prior to moving to the Villa Valencia retirement center two years ago. Paul Tipton, her husband of 62 years, passed away in 1995. She is survived by her two daughters, Mrs. James Nancy Lacy of Palos Verdes Estates and Mrs. John Kay Davidson of San Juan Capistrano, four grandchildren and six great-grandchildren. Mrs. Tipton and her husband, Paul moved from Peoria to Oakland, California in 1942 where they lived until Paul retired from a successful career as an architect in San Francisco in 1973, and they moved to Orange County. Mrs. Tipton was active in the Presbyterian Church in both Oakland and Laguna Hills, and served as president of the Leisure World PEO Chapter. She was an avid bridge player and enjoyed lawn bowling with her husband. Mrs. Tipton will be best remembered by her perpetually pleasant demeanor, great sense of humor, eternal optimism, selfless kindness and generosity to others, and as a loving wife, mother and wise counsel to her children and grandchildren.

A Memorial Service will be held on Friday, August 18, 2006 ~ 2:00 P.M. at Geneva Presbyterian Church, Laguna Hills, CA.
