Obituary
A. David Gingold, 73, was born October 4, 1938 in Syracuse, New York and passed away March 1, 2012 at home in Mission Viejo, California. A retired teacher for 35 years, David is survived by his wife Mel Marie Gingold; daughter Dawn Alane-Kelmenson and her husband David; daughter Terry Renee Gingold-Lee and her husband Richard; sister Sallie Fulton; granddaughter Madison Zagarino; step-granddaughter Alezandra Lee; step-grandson Nicholas Lee; nephews Matthew and Andrew Fulton and his favorite dog, Roxy Gingold-Lee.
He attended Troy State, Alabama on a basketball scholarship where he rarely missed a shot, especially his ‘outside shot’. He was also a skilled golfer and could be found on the golf course sometimes, up to 54 holes a day.
He became a guidance counselor at the high school of both of his daughter’s where his beautiful smile and warmth as a teacher and adult had a huge impact on the lives of many students.
Dave & his wife, Mel moved to Lake Mission Viejo where he immediately became known by many as ‘Dave, the Dock Master’… he could be seen daily cruising around on Carpe Diem and assisting people with their new boats.
A handy-dandy guy, with a mind for engineering, a big heart and a pair of helping hands, he was always on the go with a project in ‘toe.’
His ‘spice’ and charisma together with his determination and sparkling blue eyes is what we loved about him and made him special to all of us.

Dave, We have known each other and been good friends for approximately the last 10 years. You have always brought a smile to my face and made me laugh. You lived two doors down from me and watched me go thru a very difficult divorce. You saw me go from rock bottom emotionally, then watched me grow and rebound always supporting me as a good friend would. I remember many times at Fitness 19 where you would tell me that no one worked out harder than I but that I was still 25lbs overweight. You were always brutally honest in a good way! During the times I was a single man, you would always want to keep up with my latest. You were a fan! I also remember so many great times around the lake, at the concerts, drinking cocktails together and laughing especially at this past 4th of July. Some people call me “the mayor” of Lake Mission Viejo. Well if I was anywhere close to “the mayor” than you were “the governor” of Lake Mission Viejo. What I mean is that you are one of the few that knew more people, had more friends around our neighborhood than Scott Arnott. You were truly loved by many! You were truly loved by me! Rest in peace my good friend! We will miss you! Scott Arnott
