Monika

Engaging | Wise | Calming

At an early age Monika experienced the pain of grief. Her life was shaped by the loss and impressed upon her the importance of support and guidance for grieving people. In her own words, “I felt it was my calling to be an aid and advocate to those experiencing loss and grief.” When Monika read the core purpose here at O’Connor, “Healing Hearts, Inspiring Trust, and Comforting Souls” she knew she had found a place where she could live out her calling.

Monika is currently a mortuary science student at Cypress College, a Certified Crisis Counselor, and an apprentice in our Care Center. She is an avid reader and writer and she actively seeks out new experiences.

She strives to live by the words of Albert Pike, “What we have done for ourselves, expires with us; what we have done for others and the world remains and is immortal.”
