Burial Services

When your loved one has chosen to be buried, the ceremonies you design usually involve the casket being present. Traditions may be followed with a viewing and a funeral service in our chapel or a local church. Or, you could choose to have a memorial service after the burial.

There is no "right or wrong" formula for honoring your loved one when burial has been selected. Whether you choose a traditional or private burial after the funeral service, or have the burial precede the memorial service, we are here to listen to your concerns, share our experiences, and help you arrive at the perfect way to gather together... before or after your loved one's interment at a cemetery of your choice.

Traditional Burial

Traditions are comforting to many people. When families choose a “traditional burial” we can help you create a fitting graveside service and guide you through the ceremony. This can include a sound system to play their favorite song, butterfly or dove release, bagpiper or veteran honor guard.

O’Connor Mortuary invites you to speak with one of our funeral directors anytime at (877) 872-2736 to answer any questions or explore all burial options, at no obligation.

Green Burial

Green burial, also known as natural burial, is a process by which the body of a deceased person is interred in the soil in a manner that does not inhibit decomposition and allows the body to recycle naturally. It is seen as an ecologically-friendly alternative to contemporary Western burial methods.

It’s simple and natural, and ensures the burial site remains as natural as possible in all respects. Interment of the body is done in a biodegradable casket, shroud, or a favorite blanket. There is no embalming, traditional casket, and no concrete vault.

If this concept sounds like it would be in keeping with your personal values, O’Connor Mortuary will help your family create a ceremony of committal at a green cemetery. For more information on the Green Burial Council, click here.
