O'Connor Mortuary has a signature style that immediately sets us apart from other mortuaries. Our signature services are designed to provide you with additional options that will help you appropriately memorialize your loved one.
Going Beyond “Personal”
Here at O’Connor Mortuary, we’re firm believers in “personal service.” But, when you ask someone to describe what makes service “personal,” it's difficult for them to define. For us, personal service comes down to listening closely to what our families are saying, offering well-considered suggestions, and following through with the highest attention-to-detail. Our goal is to give compassionate attention to every family who comes to us for assistance. It's about complete care.
Our website offers families the ability to create a permanent online memorial to their loved one, post a life's story, photos and service information through our social media–enhanced memorials. These sites include a family tree, photo albums, and sharing memories sections. Speak with one of our professionals to learn more.
Live Funeral Webcasting
The newest innovation in funeral service is webcasting. This allows your friends or family members who cannot attend the service to attend the service via webcast. A webcast is viewed live over the Internet, archived for delayed viewing, and can be downloaded to DVD for a permanent keepsake.
A video commemoration is especially meaningful and does much to help family and friends appreciate the life of their loved one. Our chapel and visitation room are furnished with multi-media equipment for families who wish to provide us with their own personal DVD. For those who choose to have a DVD professionally designed, we can provide this service for a fee.
Our staff will provide Memory Cards to those attending the ceremony so they may write their personal memories of your loved one. The cards are then gathered and given to the family. These collected thoughts and memories from family and friends help to bring added significance to the life of your loved one. Download a sample of our Memory Card.
O'Connor Mortuary is the leader in Bereavement Resources. We have an extensive online library of information for our community. Our grief resources offer Daily Email Affirmations, local Support Groups, Online Article Archives, Printable Grief Brochures, as well as Recommended Readings. Once the services are over, we provide a continuum of care for you, and your family and friends.
Online Flower Shop
You can save time and money by ordering direct from our online flower shop. We will guarantee that our flowers will be fresh and will meet your expectations. Unlike FTD, there are no wire-to-wire or delivery charges.
Our After Care Program is a comprehensive program that is designed to assist families with practical matters that must be attended to after the services have taken place. Our mortuary provides this complimentary service to every family. Our Family Service Director will help you to review and manage all of those important details.
O’Connor Candlelight Service of Remembrance
Each December we honor the memory of loved ones by offering a Candlelight Service of Remembrance. Families are encouraged to provide a photograph of their loved one as part of our Photo Tribute portion of the service. The service also includes a message of comfort and hope, special music, a candle lighting ceremony, and during the reading of the names, each family receives a candle of remembrance.
Angel of Hope
O'Connor Mortuary has been actively involved with the Angel of Hope Candlelight Ceremony since its dedication on September 28, 2002 at El Toro Memorial Park in Lake Forest. Every year on December 6th at 7:00 pm, a ceremony is held at the angel statue to support parents who have had a child die at any age, for any reason. We invite the public to attend. Please visit the Angel website at: www.careandkindness.org/angelofhope/ - or call (714) 973-8417
We offer no-cost notary services to those families who need this assistance. It’s just one more way we can ease the difficult time after the death of a loved one.
